AttendanceATTENDANCE POLICYRegular attendance is essential for success in school. The student is responsible to be present in class and the “parent, guardian, or other person having control of any minor between six and eighteen years of age shall be required to send such minor to school during the regularly established school day in the attendance area of residence.” Parents are respectfully requested to refrain from keeping students out of school for reasons other than personal illness or family emergency. An excuse for all absences is required from a parent or guardian. Please call the excuse to the attendance secretary at 452-4648 by 9:00 a.m. No notes are accepted for all-day absences. Absences must be excused by a parent within two days or the student will be considered truant. CHECK IN: Students who arrive at school late must bring a note from a parent. Students who arrive before 8:00 a.m. go directly to the class; those who come after 8:00 a.m. must check in the attendance office before going to class. CHECK OUT: if a student must leave campus for any reason during the day, he/she must have parent permission in writing. Students will report to the attendance office to check out. We must also be able to reach a parent by phone at the time of check out, or the parent may contact the attendance secretary by phone in advance.
